Debbie first came to the Thrift Shoppe because a neighbor invited her to consider it. She shared that she has always loved thrift stores, had an eBay business, and frequented thrifts regularly. But when she came to apply, she learned more about the mission of the store and says she feels even more motivated to help this cause, which serves people worldwide.

“This place is a community of support and friendship, from the top down. Everyone knows who you are.” As she has gotten involved in the craft department (she loves buttons and brings a wealth of knowledge in that area among others!), she shared that she has been invested in making money for the cause.

Being retired, Debbie said she is grateful to have found a way to utilize the knowledge and experience from her working days, which helps her feel like she can be an asset again. “Nothing is ‘expected,’ but you just want to be here!” She also enjoys interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds and loves how well the staff and volunteers work together.

We are so glad that Debbie has joined our team and that she has been so blessed by being here as well.
