About the Shoppe

Have a question? You’re not alone! Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive about the Hartville Thrift Shoppe — from how we got started to how you can donate or get involved. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to reach out. We’re happy to help!

The Hartville Thrift Shoppe is a locally owned and operated thrift store and part of the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) network of shops. We were founded in 1978 by a group of local Mennonite women inspired by similar stores in Canada and the U.S. What began in a small house has grown into more than 35,000 square feet of retail and donation space — a blessing we attribute to both God’s provision and the support of our generous community.

Want to know more? See our About page!

We offer thousands of affordable, high-quality items — and every purchase helps fund relief, development, and peace efforts through MCC. We strive to maintain a clean, welcoming space, where every donation is handled with care and purpose. Shopping here supports a greater mission, helps reduce waste, and contributes to a strong local and global community.
